She brings up a new sun every day; for that reason, she is hunted by Mara to stop her and cause total darkness. The pagan feast of Koliada took place between the January 6 and January 19, but has since been merged into the celebration of Christmas. Thanks to famous painters: Oleksandr Savchenko-Bilsky, Alexander BilskyОлександр Савченко-Більський in Ukrainian (1900, Olyshivka village, Chernihiv Region, Ukraine - † 1991, Paris, France) - Ukrainian painter and graphic artist.From 1922 - in Paris. He worked mainly in applied trade chart. Author of iconostasis for the Ukrainian Catholic Church of St Vladimir in Paris that in 1972 moved to St. Sergius and Bacchus Church in Rome, landscapes, portraits in postimpresionism style. Moroz, Mykhailo, b 7 July 1904 in Plikhiv, Berezhany county, Galicia, d 27 September 1992 in Staten Island, New York State. Painter. He studied at the Novakivsky Art School in Lviv (1923--7) and, with a stipend from Metropolitan Andrei Sheptytsky, in Paris (1928--30), at the Académie Julien and the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers. After returning to Lviv he worked as Oleksa Novakivsky's assistant and as a portraitist.
